Hi, I’m Christina. I live with my wonderful hubby and only-slightly-less-wonderful pup, just outside of Chicago. For years and years I’ve been reading food blogs and thinking, wow, if only I could do something like this. How great would that be? Cooking anything you want, then writing about it to share with oodles of other people who like to cook and eat, too. Wow. The stuff dreams are made of, really. I’ve always kept it in the back of my mind as a kind of “What I want to do when I grow up” thing. You know, along with opening my own bakery and writing the next great American novel.
So why am I actually doing this now? Well, as it turns out… I think I might be a grown up. I’ve sensed it coming for some time now. When I married my husband a year ago, I got a twinge when I was walking down the aisle that it was most certainly something a grown up person would do. Around the same time, we bought a hundred-year-old bungalow right outside of the city, and I distinctly remember thinking, “Huh, I thought they only give mortgages to serious-type people.” And finally, after tearing out the tapioca-colored linoleum nightmare that was our kitchen and replacing it with a beautiful, gleaming granite dream, I glanced around and came to the realization, “Ok. Grown up time.” Because once you’ve successfully renovated an entire kitchen all by yourself (without killing yourself, your significant other, or the poor innocent bystander of a dog), you’re about as much of an adult as you’re going to be for a while. I have no excuses for not giving this blog thing a whirl now. The bakery will have to wait (Did I mention the mortgage?), but I suppose this adventure will do for the time being.

Love it. Food is fun.
Too wonderful! Love you more!

What a fun adventure! Can’t wait to see and sample your delicious recipes. Excellent food photos—down right professional AND grown-up. Love it!
Hi Ellen! Thanks, I hope you enjoy it!
Christina, this is so you! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Thanks, Julie! Hope you like it… might have to get some tips from you- you’re the expert!
Christina, the pictures are beautiful–I never buy a cookbook without them.
You might just get me to start cooking again. The hardest part is figuring out what to make and I can’t resisit your recipes.
Thanks, Connie! I think that’s the best compliment I could get! You’ll have to let me know what you try…
Christina, this is wonderful!! Molly told me about it last night, and I had to sign up to receive the emails. You are such a wonderful cook, and I am so HAPPY you are doing this. I love trying new recipes, and this will be such a treat! I remember you bringing goodies over when you were in high school…we knew that if you made it, it would be REALLY great!
Hi, Beth! I’m so glad that you like it… from what I hear, you make some mean cookies…
Molly didn’t even share.
